I’m going to preface this entire post by saying that I’m minimally fashionable. I love and appreciate fashion but I also love and appreciate wearing things more than once. ;) Sometimes being a blogger means we get fun perks. This time, I get to attend Minnesota Fashion Week shows with my friend and neighbor Megan tonight. Christopher Straub from Project Runway will be sharing his recent collection.

Whenever I need to pull something together for events like this or charity galas, I always try to remember, while I love to be fashionable, I’m pretty classic and feel most comfortable sticking with my style. Trying too hard to be very trendy makes me feel uncomfortable approximately two seconds after I put on the outfit.

Megan and I met during our kids’ naps on Sunday afternoon and we chatted for a few minutes before hitting the racks. We both came with the same idea-casual is better. I opted for my go-to black skinny jeans, heels, a blouse and a dressy boyfriend blazer. If you’re in the market for a cute boyfriend blazer, try the Lauren Conrad version at Kohls in three colors (Link above). It’s on sale for $30 right now.

Megan grabbed the best blousey tank ever to go with blue skinnies she already owned. She also grabbed a pair of amazing black slouchy booties. I love them! They are seriously the cutest booties I’ve ever seen.

Today I’m sharing an “edgy” version and a “classic” version of the outfit I had in mind. I’m still on the fence about my blouse and jewelry. I’d love your thoughts. I’m going with classic heels as Megan has booties covered for both of us. What do you think? Leopard blouse, softer blouse or a bright pop of color blouse?
