Today is our third blogiversary! I can hardly believe it’s already been three years since this post. Yet, life has changed so dramatically in my little world which means this little blog has changed quite a bit too. And I’m so grateful for all of the changes.
The biggest change? Baby of course! And my favorite topic in the world is now parenting. I can’t think of anything in the world that is more exciting, joy-filled and challenging. It is also something that brings women together in a way that is so different from anything I’ve experienced before.
Yesterday, I was over on Buy Modern Baby talking about a hot new car seat that is about to hit the market. Check it out if you get a chance and your comments are always appreciated. Three years ago, car seats were the furthest thing from my mind and now they completely fire me up!
The most important lesson for me as a new parent (am I even considered a new parent anymore? Feels like I still am!) has been to simply embrace change as it is. And that’s not always an easy thing to do. Someday, when it’s a bit further behind me, I’ll share my postpartum experience with you. Becoming a parent is certainly amazing, but it is also life changing in every possible way and it can take some time to really accept all of that.

And even now, almost 18 months later, every day with my little man is interesting, different and new. I’ve learned to sit back with a big cup of coffee and enjoy the ride. Enjoy the smiles, the laughter, the obnoxious fits once in a while and everything in between. I am so grateful for the life I have built, the family I share my life with and the home (as unfinished and messy as it may be) I share with my two guys!
So, in honor of our third blogiversary, I’m giving away one of my favorite mugs-the Anthropologie monogrammed mug. Maybe you can enjoy your favorite hot comforting beverage in it this winter!

I LOVE that mug! You have exceptional taste. I use mine every day.
Happy blogiversary!
Julie
Julie! You are the only one who used theirs! So glad you still use it. :) Thanks for the comment, my friend!
I can’t believe it’s been 3 years either!! I’ve loved following your blog from day 1 ;) Keep up the awesome work, I’m so happy for you and all the awesome changes in your life!
My life changes are right there with yours! Building my business, having our first baby, and moving into our dream (someday, when we’re done with it ;) ) home. I can’t wait to see what life is like in 3 more years!
Yay Callie! You have so much to be thankful for too! Your life is just lovely right now. Thanks so much for the comment. :)
Many congrats to you on three wonderfully successful years in the blogosphere!!!!
I can relate on how three years can seem like three days! I remember thinking three years ago how I couldn’t wait for my then four-year-old twin boys to be in first grade so I would have all this “extra” time to myself! HA! And as our “20-year-old” daughter gears up to turn 10-years-old in a few weeks (note the blatant sarcasm), the difference between throwing a birthday party for a girl in fourth grade is MUCH different than the one you throw a first grade girl! Oh, the DRAMA!!
But, we wouldn’t change a day of it all, would we?! Nope. Because behind those three sets of innocent eyes and missing-teeth smiles are beautiful souls filled with optimism and hope. I still have a lot to learn from them!!
All my best to you, Jessica, today and all of the tomorrows,
Jenny
Exactly, Jenny! It’s tough sometimes and maybe not exactly what you thought you would want, but yet, it’s absolutely perfect! Thank you for sharing this!
Congratulations!
Thank you for inspiring me online for the last three years and for 12 years before that!
My life has change this year by becoming a gramma! In a way it makes me feel young again being around that little girl!
Judging from the way my mom and in-laws have changed since Bodhi was born, grandchildren totally make you feel young again (although I would argue that you are still really young and somehow, you look even younger than you are. :)) Thanks so much for keeping up with my little blog. I really appreciate it!
AAAWWWwwwwhhhh…..I am so thankful for having you for my daughter, Jamal, my son-in-law and REALLY thankful for Bodhi! Having him in my life has changed me in many positive ways. I love being a Gma and thankful you and Jamal are his parents! XOXOXO
Congrats on 3 years Jess! Wow, so much has changed in my life in the last three years, it’s hard to know where to start. Most recently, I’m grateful to have a job which has been extremely refreshing. Getting engaged to my best friend and buying our first home isn’t too shabby either.
TARA! You are in such an exciting point in your life. Congratulations on all of these wonderful events! I can’t wait to see your wedding photos!
Happy Blogiversary! I got one of these mugs for myself and have given several as gifts since seeing them on YOUR blog! Great gift idea and a great mug to sip on something hot during MN winters.
I am grateful for my fabulous friends and amazing family. :)
I love them! So glad they’ve worked for you as gifts too! Thanks for being such an awesome and dedicated follower of live the fancy life!
Congrats on running a great blog for three years! I have loved watching it grow and change. My life as well has changed dramatically because of the arrival of a little one as well and will change even more in a few months when my second one comes. Looking forward to reading you for many years to come.
My little peanut Lucy (1st born) changed my whole world, and our recent expected bundle of joy rocked it. SO many more changes coming for us!
LOvely mugs! They make great gifts. As many times as I have gifted them I still don’t have one of my own! Seems so much has happened in 3 years and I know there is so much more to come-keep it fancy! Cheers!
Three years ago, I hadn’t even met my sweetheart yet! And today, we’re married! Things certainly change quickly! Congratulations!
Isn’t life amazing? So happy for you! Congratulations Marlys!
I also liked you on Facebook!
Four years ago today I met my husband! I would say meeting him and being married to him is the best!
How exciting. I am so in love with being married to my husband. It is wonderful. Thanks for sharing!
I also like your Facebook page :)
Jess! congrats! Pretty sure you know how much I love your blog! So happy I stumbled upon it. There is always great inspiration going on over here! In the last 3 years I’ve been blessed with TWO babies (wow no wonder I’m so tired!) and have made the transition from corporate America to stay-at-home mommy America ;) I’m so blessed but as you mentioned change can take some getting used to. Being a part of the blog world is so encouraging though-love seeing you and others go through the journey with honestly and with grace. Keep up the good work!
Tiffany! I can totally relate to being tired. You probably have it a little worse with two right now though. Thank you so much for sharing your life in the blogosphere too and for being such a great follower of live the fancy life. You have no idea how much I appreciate it!
Love that mug! Within the past three years I’ve gotten a new job, got married and became pregnant (now 16 weeks!) lots of changes but I’ve loved them all!
Wow Laura! How wonderful! That is all major stuff. I hope you’re feeling well now that you are out of the ugly first trimester. Congratulations on everything!
Congrats on 3 years in the blog world; I sure have enjoyed following you. I appreciate the opportunity to look back and see what has changed in my life over the last three years. Usually we are so caught up in the moment, we forget the road we took to get here today. I have a lot to be grateful for and can sum it up in a few key words: wedding, CPA designation, promotion, and BABY! Wow it has been a busy three years, but a perfect three years!
Yes, a few key words, but major ones! Isn’t it amazing how much can happen in that time? I am blown away by it all. If you continue to be the powerhouse you’ve been the last three years, can you imagine where you’ll be in three more? Love it! Congratulations on so many wonderful life changes and accomplishments Brooke!
Congrats on three years, Jessica! I can’t believe that three years ago I was living in a tiny one-bedroom apartment in Harlem. Boy have things changed since then… and for the better! Even though I miss New York, I love my job and my new apartment and being MUCH closer to my family. So excited to see what the next few years will bring for the both of us!
