Tailgating at home

My husband is a huge NFL fan. His heart belongs to a team who is having a hard year (and they play tonight), but his loyalty never fails. Sundays are all about football at our house. And with our new motto of keeping things simple, hosting football parties is no longer a huge ordeal.

We put together a fun Tailgate Party at home for our favorite day of the week with the help of Red Baron, Tony’s and Freschetta pizza. We kept it very simple with delicious frozen pizza and a popcorn station for our football loving fans.

Pizza is the perfect football Sunday (or Monday night) food. Who doesn’t’ love it? You can offer a variety of flavors so everyone is happy and it’s easy to throw in just one more if you start to get low. I hung a simple backdrop behind our buffet, added a few balloons, paper plates and napkins. Guests can help themselves to pizza all day long.

And adding a popcorn station for guests during the game is quick and easy plus it’s a crowd pleaser.

Quick DIY popcorn station
1. Set out small bowls or bags for each guest. We used simple white bags. You can pick these up at any craft store for less than $3 for 10.
2. Place popcorn in a large bowl with a scoop. We actually chose to pre-pour the popcorn, but either way works great.
3. Put fun additions in smaller bowls with scoop or spoon. I love adding green candies, green sprinkles, football helmet shaped sprinkles, parmesan cheese, nutritional yeast, marshmallows, candy canes and more. You will please your salt lovers and your sweet lovers with this easy station.
4. Tell your guests to enjoy!

In our world, parties almost always have to be kid friendly, so we added a little photo booth and cut some of the pizzas in small squares. Kids also had fruit and we kept our stuffed (not real) footballs and football themed toys close by.Tailgate party at home
I also tossed a bunch of green balloons all over the floor because kids love balloons. Add a few fun words with a Sharpie and you’ve got some seriously easy fun! Touchdown!
