Welcome to our home! Today’s post is all about decorating with green in honor of St. Patrick’s Day next week. So get ready for loads of tips to help you get your home spring ready.
My blogger friend Meg from Green with Decor is hosting this fabulous green home tour for St. Patrick’s Day and I’m so excited to be a part of it! Some of the fabulous bloggers in the tour did DIY projects, St. Patty’s decor specifically and others show you many beautiful ways to decorate with green.
I love all the variety on this home tour and I hope you do too. Check out our home and then hop over to the other tours for loads of green decorating inspiration. My home tour is filled with green, but it’s more subtle greens including plants, lots of mint green and natural green tones.
Are you ready to get started?
Formal Living and Dining Rooms
We use green in subtle ways in these spaces. You can see that we have several plants, touches of green in our art and green throw pillows. We set the table in green recently as well which was fun!
Our formal living room which isn’t very formal at all includes plants and pillows in green plus a mint green “family rules” print over by the door.
I think green mixes so well with many other colors and green almost always adds great texture.
Kitchen
I haven’t photographed my kitchen much, but we often have a green wreath, green fruits and veggies on the counters and a greenish rug by the sink (the left of the photo). We also have a green learning tower for our kiddos which is fun. You can’t really see it fully here, but you get the picture, right? :)
Laundry Room
Our laundry room is my favorite room makeover in the history of the blog. Using mint green paint makes all the difference. So pretty!
Bodhi’s Room
I’ve used green a lot when it comes to Bodhi. His second birthday party was loaded with green and his bedroom has quite a bit of lime and spring green mixed in.
Our office
Our office is definitely minty.
We incorporated subtle touches of green throughout here.
I was really surprised to see just how often I choose green for accents in our home. I used it heavily in yesterday’s party post too.
Green is the perfect color to add to our homes in the spring. Green says “life” to me! Adding leaves, plants, succulents, minty art or throw blankets and other green items might be just what you need to liven up your home for spring. Here is a pretty helpful shopping guide for you. I’ll add more soon.
