Thanksgiving celebration with Cold Stone Ice Cream Pie

Today’s post is sponsored by Cold Stone Creamery.

There is nothing like Fall. The scents. The flavors. The coziness of the season. I love everything about this season and Thanksgiving is what brings it all together for me.

We always spend the first half of the day at my uncle’s home with family and we host the second meal on Thanksgiving evening with my husband’s family and my grandmother. My grandma always stays with us for a week or more around Thanksgiving and we spend Black Friday shopping together. After she had a heart attack a few weeks back, I’m extra thankful for the opportunity to have her with us and to carry on our tradition of Christmas shopping together. I digress. :)

This year for our Thanksgiving evening meal, I’m doing something a bit different for dessert and already had a dry run. We are enjoying Cold Stone Creamery’s Sugar & Spice inspired creations, specifically the pumpkin ice cream pie which is a heap of fresh pumpkin ice cream, a graham cracker pie crust and it’s topped with cinnamon frosting and delicious chocolate leaves. It’s perfection.

I love putting together a simple and delicious dessert table for Thanksgiving. Since it is a small crowd, I stick to the basics. A dessert or two plus coffee is the perfect way to end Thanksgiving day. We also love to go around the table and share some of what we are thankful for.

A quick dessert table

  1. Plaid wrapping paper or wrapping paper of your choice. Simply tape it to the wall as a pretty and festive backdrop.
  2. Pumpkins. I love mini white ones, but any pumpkin will do.
  3. Coffee mugs and a french press or other pot. Simply set it out near your ice cream pie.
  4. Ice cream pie. Ice cream plus coffee is so good!
  5. Add napkins, plates and a few candles.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

Pumpkin Ice Cream Pie will be in stores and online (ColdStoneCakes.com) through November 26.
