It’s been a rough week, friends. When life gets busy and unexpected/unplanned things happen, something’s gotta give. Next week will be a busy one catching up and sharing a ton of great stuff with you including a HUGE giveaway with BABYBJÖRN. Be sure to stop back so you don’t miss it. Have you seen their new carriers? I have one in hand and will share my review with you too. Today I thought I’d stop in with a few random updates (with only Instagram photos to save time). Here goes.

On pregnancy

I love reading other blogs who do weekly or monthly pregnancy updates, but have never been a big bump selfie picture taker. But, I thought I’d stop by and share a few pregnancy updates, if not for you, for me to remember how things are going. I’ve taken three selfies and posted them on Instagram. This baby is probably our last so I will not experience pregnancy again. It’s embarrassing, but it’s also fun to look back once the baby arrives and to show kids where they were when they were in mommy’s belly. :)

How far along: 36 weeks

Sleep: Waking up five or more times a night to use the restroom, but falling back asleep easily which usually isn’t the case for me. And B has had a very rough week so none of us have had much sleep. Hoping for a restful weekend.

Miss anything: Energy. I didn’t experience third trimester exhaustion with Bodhi but I feel almost as tired as I did during the first trimester. By 5 or 6 p.m., I feel ready for bed. Of course, my 3-year-old doesn’t.

Movement: Lots of movement. I still remember Bodhi being even more active, but this guy is definitely awake many many times each day. And because my muscles just aren’t as strong and aren’t holding him in place as much, I’m feeling movement all over—ribs, sides, hip bones even.

Food cravings: Not really, but have been very into roasted cauliflower this pregnancy. Yum! And tart fruit.

Labor signs: Tons of Braxton Hicks this pregnancy. I had very few with Bodhi. I have them multiple times a day and they’ve been around for months this time, so not necessarily a true labor sign.

Thankful for: I’m so thankful we’ve made it this far. This pregnancy hasn’t been as comfortable and I’ve had this feeling all along that we’d deliver too early, mostly because of all of the Braxton Hicks and generally just feeling like this guy is much lower. Some moms want to deliver early to ease discomfort, but one of my very best friend’s delivered her children early and she wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I try to be thankful for the discomforts as much as I can knowing that it is still the best thing for the baby. Bodhi was a week late and I think that’s perfect. It gives the baby plenty of time to grow as strong and healthy as possible. Hoping this guy gets as much time as he needs. I’m also thankful that I have SO many more female mama friends to text, call, email etc… when things are tough after baby boy arrives. Tiffany will be welcoming her bundle just a few short months after our guy and I know we’ll get through the struggles together and celebrate the beautiful moments together too. Thankful!

Looking forward to: Meeting the baby, obviously. And seeing Bodhi with him. But in the short-term, excited about finishing the nursery and semi-finishing our basement. We’re creating a big play space in our unfinished basement with carpet (hopefully next week-just waiting for our special order carpet to arrive), a trampoline just like this (my mom got it for B for his birthday), our teepee and all kinds of other fun, active stuff for our boys and their friends. :) Winter in Minnesota is really tough. And long. We need the play space and our kids need to be able to stay active. As for the nursery. We’re close. Really close, but there are still things to do. With just four weeks left, I’m letting some DIY things go that I would’ve loved to do. They just aren’t possible. I’ve come to terms with our nursery being only ok this time around. :\

Nervous about: Sleepless nights. I had a very hard time after Bodhi was born due to a fairly traumatic birth and a baby who woke nearly every hour until he was 10 months old. Add to it well-meaning friends and family who thought and expressed that there must be something wrong (plus plenty of unsolicited advice) that he wasn’t sleeping and it was enough to make anyone hide under the covers and come up when the baby starts sleeping. At least this time I’m aware of it. B still isn’t a great sleeper and I know it’s just him. It’s not something that was wrong. We’ll survive one way or another. With Bodhi, my biggest fear was labor and delivery, but I’m not nervous at all about it this time.

Nursery progress: So close to finished, but a lot of finishing touches left as I mentioned. My grandma came for B’s birthday and washed, folded and organized all of the baby’s clothes. Luckily she did because we realized that we had donated nearly everything by accident for 0-6 months. So, I’ve had to do a lot of online shopping to get this little man a wardrobe.

My work elsewhere

I shared our most recent nursery design on Buy Modern Baby. The real nursery is almost complete, but I lost a full week of work and project time this week with a sick sweet boy so just being patient.

I am a contributor at Momtastic now. I love working with them. Check out my post featuring 10 stylish and practical diaper bags for moms on the go.

I’ve also shared six bright and lovely spring home decor finds for under $50 and five fun spring birthday party themes for kids on Momtastic recently.

One of our photos was recently featured in an article about “shelfies” on Canada House & Home.

Bodhi’s bedroom was featured on one of our sponsor’s blogs. Check it out!

Oh Boy Style has a few new looks as well.

What’s new with you? Any fun weekend plans? Cheers!
