It is finally here! The moment you have all (wait, it’s probably just me) been waiting for! Drumroll please…

Introducing Bodhi’s first birthday party — dessert table edition! Wing of Canary Grey Photography photographed Bodhi’s party. Enjoy!

Theme: Little man mustache bash
Inspiration: We have called Bodhi our “little man” and “Bodeman” since I was seven months pregnant.

Bodhi loved his birthday party! He was nonstop running, laughing, dancing and eating for hours. He ran through a sea of adult legs and kissed all of the little girls. And while he enjoyed his cake, he wasn’t as crazy about it as I thought he would be.

The dessert table was the main feature of Bodhi’s birthday party, with the exception of course being, the birthday boy.

I made the backdrop very inexpensively. I plan to post a DIY tutorial soon. You can make this for less than $15.

Bodhi’s smash cake was a basic cake from Byerly’s. We decorated it with fun stuff from Parker’s Flour Patch.

And we ordered matching cupcake toppers from Parker’s Flour Patch. This is the second time I’ve worked with this fabulous Etsy shop and once again, she did an amazing job.

I worked with Shana from Belva June on the color palette which really helped direct the rest of my work including the easy DIY dessert table backdrop. Shana created these cupcake toppers and all sorts of paper goodies to help bring the theme together.

These cakebites from Jenn (my new neighbor) of Beyond the Bar Bakery were TO. DIE. FOR!

Having three flavors was a bad idea. It meant I tried all three!

My sister-in-law made these amazing tie cookies using a cookie cutter like this! Can you believe it? She is not only an Auntie-extraordinaire, but also a rock star baker!

All of our signs fit nicely into Ikea Tolsby frames that we already had. The frames were only 99 cents and we’ve used them a ton for holidays and parties.

It’s true. Real men do eat cupcakes.

In case you’re not already running for the pantry to find something sweet, thought I’d throw in a few extra shots of all the delicious desserts… oh, and a few extra shots of my little honey!

We had a wonderful day and we have photos that will help us remember it for years to come.

There is much more to come. Watch for posts on all of the other details, the birthday boy and his cute friends and DIY tutorials for the backdrop and the bow tie party favors. I am also so excited that Bodhi’s birthday party will be featured on one of my favorite party sites in July.
