I’m excited to finally share our nursery with you today. This nursery is kind of a mishmash of all of the things I love! I wanted a little industrial (light fixture and stool), a little modern (crib and Eames style chair), a little comfort (glider, rug, blankets, clouds), a few practical items (dresser, hooks, book shelves) and I wanted it to be just a bit whimsical (sunshine and cloud art, tassel mobile from Splendid Supply Co. cloud garland).
This little corner is what we are calling the “big brother reading nook” and B loves it!
We love this room. It is a bright and beautiful space with many items that inspire us and we hope will inspire this little babe who could arrive any day now. We filled his shelves with books Bodhi used to love, some new items and lots of color!
While I really love this yellow striped sheet, I have to admit that I bought three different sheets for the room. I really like all three and they completely change the look and feel of the crib and even the room. One sheet I chose was just $9.99 and is a super soft T-shirt material. Love it! I’m going to try to get a post up in the coming days showing all three. I took the photos already. :)
This cloud garland is probably my favorite decor item in the room. I love these knit fluffy little clouds. I will not be keeping them on the crib once the baby sleeps in it though, so I will be moving them somewhere else for safety.
And in some ways, I feel like the room doesn’t look super coordinated, but I’m still very happy with it. When I walk in the room, I instantly feel relaxed. It’s clean, neat, bright, inspiring and has just the right amount of childish sweetness.
I originally had a huge gallery wall planned above the changing pad area. I decided to scale it down and really like the simple clean result.
Admittedly, this wooden camera was a bit of a splurge. I knew I wanted it in our next nursery since before this little man even existed. It’s tiny. It doesn’t do anything special, but I love it.
You may remember that our nursery glider was a total steal on Craigslist. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit my body all that well so we ended up buying a second one that is much smaller and more comfortable for me. We kept the DwellStudio Glider though. It fits my husband perfect. We have the second glider in our master bedroom for now and may sell one or the other once we get past the up all night phase. :)
This little basket is one of my favorite details. I was always searching for little things with Bodhi because I stuck them all in his drawers. I decided that a basket with “accessories” was a good solution.
I love sharing a few details, so check out his little shoe collection!
And diapers! They are so cute until you’re up for the fifth time in the middle of the night cleaning up a blow-out. Am I right or am I right?
This shelf actually needs to be completely reworked in terms of styling, but I wanted to be done so I used things we already had. The “You’re getting very sleepy” print is actually from Bodhi’s nursery. Hoping to find things I love over time.
Well, that’s a wrap! Feel free to check out Bodhi’s nursery to see how our style has changed. I think Bodhi’s current bedroom and the nursery definitely have similar styles and they are the styles I love most. Clean, fresh, simple design. What do you think?

Jessica, you always do such a BEAUTIFUL job decorating your home and the boys rooms! I love your style and love getting tips on how to put a room together. What a lucky little boy :) Best of luck in these last couple {dare I say} days!
You are so sweet Ann. Thank you so much for stopping by! And thank you for the well wishes. Very hard to believe it could be days or weeks. Time flies!
I absolutely LOVE it! Great work, Jessy! =)
Thanks lovely lady!
LOVE it! Can I steal time in the Big Brother reading area??!! My FAV part of the room, which is really hard to decide on b/c it’s all fabulous, are all of the inspiring framed messages! Even though babies can’t read, I think affirmations are so powerful!
Anytime my friend, but only if you promise to bring a bottle of wine to the nursery! Cheers! :)
The room is fabulous. LoriT and I are sitting in Salem looking at it. LoveloveLove everything!!
Awww… thank you Tina and Lori! :)
This nursery is absolutely gorgeous! We did yellow/aqua with our first son’s nursery & I LOVE all the black & white accents that you’ve added. Sooooo how do I hire you to come decorate my little house. ;) #notkidding
Thanks for stopping by Jen! yellow and aqua are fun and I think with some black and white and grey, it tones it down just a bit.
Adorable Jess. Now all you need to complete the nursery is BABY! We can’t wait to welcome the newest member to the neighborhood.
Thanks Kammie! Hard to believe a baby is coming anytime in the next two weeks! Looking forward to seeing you all this summer.
It’s so serene and beautiful. You did a great job with it.
Thanks Jana! It is very serene when you’re in it. The color definitely puts you in a peaceful mood very quickly.
Oh where to begin?! You already know I love it! One thing in particular I love is the amount of art in it- especially the fact that it’s modern affordable art. And I vote to keep the stars! I seriously love it all!
Thanks sweet friend! I definitely need to replace a few pieces on the shelf, but overall really like how it ended up. And this stuff is VERY affordable! Thanks for your thoughts on the stars. It was a tough call.
I am so in love with your new nursery, so many gorgeous details! And what is it about baby shoes that send me into complete baby meltdown mode, so cute!!
Thank you sweet Tamsyn! Baby shoes are the best, aren’t they? They are not the most practical, but so cute!
I LOVE IT Jes!! It’s so bright and cheery yet looks calming and soothing! Amazing job. Makes me want to decorate a nursery. :) And YES, the little baby shoes are the BEST part. Can’t wait to meet B’s new baby brother.
I’m sure someone would LOVE to hire you to do a nursery for them! Maybe take on a “client” in the coming months. :) You would be fantastic! We hope to see you soon!
Oh my!! I am so excited!! Thanks for sharing! It looks wonderful! XO
Thanks mom!
I love it! I have an Eames rocker in our nursery for Kalia to sit in there as well! So excited for your new one to arrive! (haha my nursery still isnt done yet, 4.5 months later…)
Thanks so much Laurel! Yes, those rockers are just so classic now. I’ll use it somewhere else when it no longer fits his room because I love them so much. :) I’m sure you’ll get there!
Incredible! Love all the details. The colors you picked are perfect!! I need you to come style Beckett’s nursery!
Thanks so much Amber! I can’t wait to see Beckett’s room! And thanks for the awesome whale pillow! Love, love, love!

This room is absolutely darling, Jessica. I just love it!
Can I ask what brand diaper bag is hanging?! I can’t find one I like!
Hi Alexa! Sure thing. It’s the Skip Hop Chelsea. Here is the link to my favorite diaper bags: http://livethefancylife.com/diaper-bag-decisions-my-top-six-chic-and-practical-bags/
LOVE!! Where was the cute towel from?
Hi Kelly! It was a sale towel at Pottery Barn Kids recently. I got it for 30% off which was nice! :)
thanks Jessica – love your website and style. Sorry one last question – for the ‘you are my sunshine” print – do you know if Emily Ley still sells those? I do not see it on her website…
Hi Kelly, It was a limited time thing after the tornadoes hit Pensacola, Florida. She may be willing to still sell it to you if you email her though. Have a wonderful week!
The entire nursery is beautiful! Love all of it :) Love the gray chair so much, where is it from? Thanks :)
Thank you! It is from Dwell Studio but we got a floor model at a local store for $350!
Hi Jessica!
Everything in here is so beautiful! I went through your list of resources but I didn’t see anything for the long white wall hook- it’s so cool! Where is that from (if you don’t mind sharing).
Thank you!
Melissa
Hi Melissa! I believe it’s Umbra brand and I found it on Amazon. I honestly can’t remember anymore though. :(
