After my last post about our gallery wall, I thought I should probably update you on the semi-finished/never really finished product. :)
We decided to change our old gallery wall from a hung wall to picture ledges for a variety of reasons. First, I love switching out art all the time. I change my style and mind too often and every time I’d take something down I’d have issues getting it back up or would no longer like the flow. I also felt like our gallery wall configuration was getting stale and there any change meant I had to find a way to hide nails, screws and holes.
With a combination of family photos and fun prints, I love the fresh look of the new wall. The frames are almost all Ikea. I was so excited with how it turned out by mixing and matching different styles and every frame is less than $10 with most being less than $6. The shelves are Ikea Ribba, the same ones we used for book ledges in B’s room and will use in the nursery as well. They are too good to be true as they are inexpensive, easy to install and come in three finishes.
All of the photos on the wall are by Melissa Oholendt other than B and his birthday cake (Canary Grey Photography) and B in the top left (Gina Zeidler Photography).
Free apple printables are available at Paging Supermom, one of my favorite sites.
The You Are It print was a freebie from Justina Blakeney. I love it. Simple. Solid.
The $5 Be You tiful print was such a fun bright find and is available on Etsy for instant download.
And the cow with glasses is from BC Print Shop. I got it for $7.
This was seriously a 30-minute project, something anyone could do in any room to make it feel finished and bright with very little money and time. For other free printables to complete your gallery wall, follow my Pinterest board filled with freebies. Cheers to a new week!
It looks very stylish and nice! I love that there are so many choices for cheap or free printables.
Yes, free and cheap printables definitely make decorating so much easier!
I like the idea of changing them out easily. I hate nail holes in my walls! Are you a fan of the 3M velcro picture hanging stickies? They are great!!!
I haven’t done the picture hanging sticky things in a while because they ruined a wall of mine in the new house. It was very frustrating. I still haven’t been able to fix the wall and it’s in the foyer where everyone comes in. Not good.
Love this idea of changing out pictures/images. I love decorating for the seasons and holidays and this would be perfect! I love the idea of free or inexpensive printables. I also like to frame greeting cards. Thanks for sharing!!
Yes! I was getting so frustrated with the seasonal stuff. I had no easy way to change it up! And greeting cards are such a good idea.
I LOVE THAT COW!!!! He’s almost as cute as that soon-to-be Big Brother! Beautiful job, Jes!
The cow is definitely a nod to the little guy! :)
I love this! It feels more “organized” than a gallery wall but still looks artistic. Seems like something I could handle. Thanks for the great idea!
It is a little more organized. I think that might be why I liked it right away. Thanks for stopping by!
