After a fun and active summer filled with sunshine into the evening, our little guy now goes to bed pretty late, leaving very little time for my husband and I to enjoy each other’s company, watch TV, read and relax like we used to. But, we do make room for a few things. One of those things is the Oscars. I love the excitement, the glamour and most of all, the heart-felt speeches. We record it and hit play right after the little man is asleep. I like to drink a glass of bubbly and typically tear up during some first-time winner’s speech or speeches. I love that stuff! Do you watch the Oscars?
I also love to read PEOPLE Magazine before and after the Oscars. The Red Carpet edition is full of pretties. And I especially love any personal stories and features. I’m all about the humble human interest side of things.
Two of my favorite celebs who are nominated in some capacity this year…
Ben Affleck—I’ve always been a fan, but Argo put him in a whole new category in my book. Amazing movie! Great acting. We don’t get to a whole lot of movies these days, but I’m so glad that one of our picks this past year was Argo. So worth it!
Amy Adams—I just loved her in Julie and Julia so much that I’ll probably always love her.
For mama time, I will be picking up the PEOPLE Magazine Oscars Double Issue which will be on sale from March 1 to March 18, 2013. It will be me, PEOPLE magazine, a glass of wine, a fire in the fireplace and my sofa… with feet up!
