I’m working on some fun holiday-related projects to get you all (and myself) pumped up for the holiday season. This year, I plan to decorate early! Like really really early. We are hosting our annual cocktail party in mid-December and I hope to squeeze in a styled dessert table photo shoot with a few fabulous vendor friends in Minneapolis that day at my home. Is it crazy to attempt to set it all up and then host a party right after? I thought it was efficient because the beautiful work wouldn’t go to waste. Hmmm… Maybe I’ll reconsider. We are also hosting my entire family for Christmas this year. We are a large (21 plus people) and in charge group which makes for a loud and fun holiday.  Holiday decorating is one part of the madness that I can get done early without any problems, so I’m going to. While decorating hasn’t started yet, it will very soon. Yes, I do plan to wait until Halloween is over, but not much past October 31.

I am most excited to get a new mirror for above our fireplace and to put a beautiful wreath on it. I first saw the photo above from Centsational Girl on Tiffany’s blog a while back. And while I love the mirror we painted twice for that spot, I think it’s just too small for the wall and the space. I have almost 50 other blank spots throughout my home and the mirror will certainly fit in well on one of them. Like many other projects I’ve had in this home, I have to admit when my idea just wasn’t cutting it. It’s a tough thing when you spend time and money on something, but it’s for the best this time. :)

Do you ever go with your gut when it comes to decorating and then regret it later? Or, is that just a part of the process of making your house into a home?
