Friends! We are planning a trip to Hawaii in early February with our boys. I’m SO excited for the opportunity to show them around our favorite place on earth. To be honest, I’m really excited to get out of this little “Winter Wonderland” for a bit in the middle of the super cold months.

While I love packing fun and beautiful tropical attire for my trips to Hawaii, with kids, I also need practical. I’m so excited to share my finds from Speedo USA that allow me to be both active with the boys in the sand and surf and easily transition to poolside time alone with the hubby as well.

Speedo USA offers so many great options; from cute color block bikinis and great one pieces to the best rash guards for sun protection all day long.

Taking vacations with kids can certainly be different. We’ve traveled quite a bit with both of our boys and even more with just Bodhi (our oldest.) I’ve found that the most important thing to keep in mind when traveling with kids is low expectations. Go with the flow. It’s the only way to go when you aren’t in control of delays, behavior, sleep patterns and jet lag.

Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite items from Speedo USA that I’m packing for our family trip to Hawaii.

Ready to check it out?

Heather zip front halter | High neck cutout one piece suit | High waist swim bottom | Zip front long sleeve rash guard | Textured rash guard | Tank dress | Kids water skeeter | Kid flip flops | The best goggles (our son and his swim instructor love these) | Toddler rash guard | Toddler water shoes for beaches with shells

I’ve shared it before, but I want to share it again. Here are a few of our tried and true tips for traveling with young children.

Toddler airplane activities

  • Books.
  • Movies.
  • Flash cards with animals, dinosaurs and fun facts.
  • Restroom breaks.
  • Drawing and drawing games like tic tac toe.
  • Looking at photos on our phones.
  • Tablet/e-reader. Our kids almost never get tablet time and games would be a huge luxury for them.

Toddler airplane snacks

  • Real fruit snacks
  • Fruit, especially cut up berries and clementines
  • Whole grain crackers and hummus

Layover plans

  • Running around. A lot. Traveling to Hawaii is significantly less taxing than traveling to Sri Lanka as we did years ago, but we will still plan to get our boys plenty of exercise on our layover.
  • Play areas at airports.
  • Healthy meals.
  • Restroom breaks.

That’s all folks. We’ll let you know more about our plans as we get closer to takeoff and of course, I’ll let you know how the trip goes.
