We are already decorating. I know many people wait, but we have a busy few weeks ahead of us. We are traveling to Washington D.C. for Thanksgiving and have a big party just a couple of weeks later followed by Christmas at our house for 25! I can’t wait for any of it! I love this time of year. Decorating with a toddler, while challenging at times, has been so much fun!
Yesterday, we finally made the felt Christmas tree we found on Pinterest.
I’m a total copycat when it comes to Pinterest projects. It’s too easy to get creative without having to think super hard.
We made a tree for Bodhi at our house and a tree for Bodhi’s playdate friend for a total of $6 thanks to Joann Fabrics coupons. :)
In case you haven’t seen it on Pinterest, here is what you need to know.
Materials
1 yard green felt
3-4 pieces of square felt in different colors (you could do more or less depending on what look you’re going for)
10-3M adhesive squares to hang it on the wall
Scissors
Time
1 hour
Directions
That’s it! I drew the tree on the back side by hand. I then just cut several different shapes including ornaments, gifts, “ribbon” and bows. Bodhi helped decorate and I kept him busy by hanging the tree up right away and having him take each ornament as I finished. The felt ornaments and gifts stick to the tree and each other easily. Safe and fun holiday entertainment!
Now, it’s time for me to focus on gifts and activities to get us through the winter with an active toddler. What Pinterest projects have you brought to life? Any great winter activities you do with your toddler? Please share.

I love this one! Bodhi will love it too. How fun! Thanks for sharing!
I love this! silly question – the 10 – 3M are to put the tree and place on the wall. So the ornaments and packages will auto stick to itself?
Hi Kelley! Not silly at all. That’s right. Use them to secure the tree to the wall. I also put a small strip of white under the tree as the snowy ground so the gifts would attach right to that. Yes, everything else sticks to each other naturally. Pretty awesome!
Cheers!
Super cute!
