I mentioned on Friday that I hadn’t taken the time to do our Autumn traditions this year. On Friday evening, we set out to carve a pumpkin, something we have to do each year, of course. Luckily, we had help from Pumpkin Masters as using a huge knife like I did growing up is a bit scary with a toddler. Pumpkin Masters kits are an easy DIY way to carve pumpkins with your family.
Pumpkin Masters is available at grocery, drug and craft stores and then nationally at Target and Walmart. They have a huge variety of styles and skill levels. These awesome carving kits are a great activity for the family to enjoy together and a much easier and safer carving experience than what I’ve done in the past, especially with small children like Bodhi.
For our pumpkin, we went for a super easy skill level because we had no idea what carving with a toddler would bring. We used the shaving kit and made a spider. It’s simple but totally modern and bold, just the way I like it. Some of their other kits, especially the dots kit, are my style too and I still may try to do a second one before Halloween.
Carving out the bottom was new to me. I’ve always done the top, but this makes the pumpkin look flawless and their carving “knife” tool was so easy to use and much safer than a knife.
