After a wonderful weekend which included a date night to celebrate my 31st birthday, the week started fast and furious. I thought focusing a few minutes on our master bedroom would be a nice ease into the midweek. Our master bedroom has not changed since this post or this one. I tend to do best working on one thing at a time and we’ve had a few projects going for a while now.

But now that Bodhi’s room is almost complete and a big event I’m helping with will be here this weekend, we are about ready to make the last few details happen. We already own the majority of the items in the inspiration board above, so will just be finishing up with a light fixture, new dresser, curtains and some art and accessories.

I used to be afraid of subtle variations in colors for rooms (like different shades of the same color) and also didn’t think it was ok to mix woods or white with woods, but the more my style has evolved and the more I have a grasp on exactly what my style is, I’ve realized that mixing shades, patterns, colors, woods etc… actually adds a lot of texture, beauty and interest.

So, this room is mostly comprised of different shades of white and ivory with a few pops of wood and color mixed in. I love the soft romantic feel. And this room gets AMAZING light, so it will always feel bright and airy. Plus we have a porch right off of our bedroom that we’ve almost never used, so if spring ever arrives in Minnesota, we may just open up that door. Ahhh… Now if only I had a full day to read a book in bed or have breakfast or coffee on the porch. Nope, that is not the life of a mama!

I’ll share the finished room soon. Wait, let’s be real here. I’ll share the finished room in a few months.

Shopping resources

Capiz pendant ($129) West Elm
Ruched quilt and shams ($19.99-$49.99) Target. I talked about how similar this is to some of the beautiful Anthropologie options here.
Waterfall ruffle curtain panel ($79/panel) Urban Outfitters. I’m actually on the hunt for something a little more budget friendly and a little less pink as we need six panels. Might go with something more ivory or perhaps a minty green or soft peach. Know of anything?
Throw pillows (prices vary) Target
Erin cute as a button bed ($319 on sale) World Market. We got it on sale a few months ago and love it!
Erin cute as a button side chair ($279) World Market
Ivory shag rug ($199) Home Goods but you can find quite a few affordable options on Amazon or Overstock as well.
White lili punched drum stool in white ($59) World Market, but wait for it to go on sale or watch for something similar at Home Goods.
Hemnes dresser ($299) Ikea. With some new hardware, this very budget-friendly dresser is practical (huge) and pretty!
Ivory circular mirror ($362 for this one, but we got a great one at Home Goods for $39 last Summer) Home Goods
Side table ($89 for this one at Target, but we already have two very similar ones that we may or may not paint) Target
Robert Abbey Delta lamp ($169 at Lamps Plus, but we are spray painting our Walmart ones from years ago a similar color) Lamps Plus or DIY
Kiss slowly poster ($24 on Etsy)

Have a fabulous week!
