I co-hosted a bridal shower for my bestie/cousin/sister (she’s not really my sister, just to clarify) in November. Her wedding is on New Year’s Eve. So much to celebrate in the coming weeks. It was such a treat to celebrate Alyssa, the bride-to-be at the shower we put a lot of love into. I’ve been waiting for this day for my whole life. Both the bridal shower and bachelorette parties were fantastic. Celebrating people we love is what life is all about, right?!
This shower was inspired by the dessert table backdrop from Minted. Minted sent the backdrop and a few other items for us to use for the shower and we pretty much built everything off of it. The shower is a floral, pink, black and white “Hooray for Love” themed shower filled with fun.
The dessert table was pretty much all fall flavors. The naked cakes added great texture to the dessert table.
Mini pumpkin pies were a must-have item when we were planning. So cute and seasonal.
We loaded the tables and house with fresh flowers.
I ordered all of the linens from CV Linens which is a great budget-friendly option. The blush pink is very unlike me, but was really pretty with the black and white.
We worked with Balloon Time on the shower too. They sent us a helium tank to use. We created the most fun DIY paddle balloons! It’s so easy. Use large white balloons. Use a cricut and print out vinyl letters. We chose “Hooray!” Simply stick it on the balloons for a fun touch. Another option is to order the vinyl stickers off of Etsy. This is such a fun custom balloon idea.
I was so excited to do individual place settings for the first time ever for a party and I knew menus would add a lot.
Our fun balloon! My favorite little detail.
Flowers, flowers and more flowers were white, pink, green and more.
We had 35 people for a sit-down meal which is probably the max I can fit in my house.
We put tables in my formal dining room, my family room and spread out the food in a few spaces to make it feel spacious.
I own two tall cocktail tables which were great and allowed people to spread out.
I though place settings would be so much work, but they were really quick and easy with a little help.
Hooray for Love was just a fun phrase the co-host and I came up with and it was a fun little detail.
We had to have a mimosa bar too, of course. That and coffee! We served traditional mimosas with orange juice and a fun orange mango mimosa as well.
Party favors were also simple but so pretty. We purchased white bags, Minted stickers and cranberry oatmeal biscotti with white chocolate drizzle from Trader Joe’s. Each guest took home 5 pieces of biscotti. Easy. Delicious! Affordable!
I love putting together party favors. It’s a small detail most people don’t really expect but I enjoy giving them out!
Now on to the wedding! It’s just over two weeks away and we can’t wait. Mr. Bodhi is the ring bearer and is thrilled.
p.s. I actually had sandwiches catered for this and it was such a relief to not have to worry much about food.
The beautiful bride had a great time and enjoyed a few mimosas. :) A successful event for sure!
